We are a community here at The Pilates Barre, and we welcome you to join! Our BarreFormer Pilates and TreadBarre classes are group classes led by a trained instructor that can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 50 minutes. This means that you have the opportunity to exercise with your friends, family members, and form new relationships with others in your classes. When you enter class you already know you have one thing in common with those around you- the desire to improve yourself through exercise!

Motivation

Group classes provide you with motivation that you will not get from working out by yourself. Being surrounded by others allows you to push yourself to work your hardest and put forth your very best effort. To put it simply, working out alone does not offer the same motivation as working out with a group. A study from Psychology Today emphasizes the large influence that our peers have on our behavior. Research has been conducted to evaluate the effects that social setting has on effort during exercise, and essentially those who exercised with others had a higher heart rate than those who worked out alone. Our BarreFormer and TreadBarre classes are filled with hardworking individuals who will motivate you to do better.

Trained Instructors

Another benefit of taking a group workout class led by a trained professional is that you have the opportunity to improve and perfect your form. When you are alone, you could be doing something the same way every day and never know that it is incorrect simply because you do not have anyone to tell you otherwise. Our instructors are here to help you reach your goals in the safest, most efficient way possible. They can assist you throughout class, and make sure that you are working to the best of your ability. They are always happy to answer any questions that you may have, provide you with modifications, give you tips, and will motivate you all the way until the last second of class. Furthermore, one of the best ways to learn is through observation. Group workout classes allows you to learn not only from instructors, but from your more advanced peers as well.

Accountability

Waking up and going to the gym by yourself can be tough; there may be no one to hold you accountable, and you may not have a solid routine. Group exercise classes can help you become more consistent with your exercise routine, which in in turn help you reach your goals faster. Moving your body in some way each day is crucial for overall health, and as we’ve all heard a thousand times, consistency is key. You can easily squeeze a BarreFormer Pilates or TreadBarre class into your everyday schedule, especially because we offer classes all throughout the day. Whether it be before the sun comes up or on your way home from work, we always have a wide variety of class times.
Doing exercise with a group in a class setting is fun, will motivate you, includes professional instruction, and can help you create a solid and consistent workout routine.
